Problems started only after the launch of the new portal

The new website of Income Tax was launched on 7 June. The very next day, on June 8, Union Finance Minister Sitharaman informed Infosys about the technical difficulties being faced by the taxpayers. On June 22, Sitharaman and finance ministry officials had asked Parekh questions about the problems faced after the launch of the new portal. Finance Minister Parekh asked Infosys to give priority to all problems, improvement of services and redressal of people’s grievances without any delay. During the meeting, Parekh had assured to resolve all the problems within a few days.

Claims to rectify problems in 2-3 days a week ago

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said about a week ago that the flaws in the IT portal will be fixed within 2-3 days. However, these problems remain in the new portal of Income Tax Department www.incometax.gov.in. Due to this, the Income Tax Department had to relax several norms under which taxpayers were allowed to manually submit compliance Form 15CA/15B with authorized dealers.
